complexity and contradiction in art
Work Samples Updated as of 16 January 2012
I have always been attracted to the sensual and dynamic nature of objects in the natural world; the intersection of a tree trunk and a limb, the structural matrix of bone, or the astounding beauty of an insect's exoskeleton.  The fundamental characteristic of all natural objects is their apparent evolved and functional complexity coupled with contradictions of form, texture, and color that result from the impact of forces in the surrounding ecology.

My ceramic and photographic art is a sensory investigation to express and celebrate the complexity and contradictions that gives
art a tangible sense of life.
